Notting Hill

Topshop top & necklace | Zara skirt & bag | Primark boots | Marc by Marc Jacobs watch

The past week has been pretty manic with starting my course, interviews and running lots of errands and losing a bit of sleep, getting up at the crack of dawn is still quite new for me! As you can tell from my outfit I also went little mad at the student discount event at Westfield, hello new clothes. Dave is down for the weekend, it's been so good to chill out for a bit and do something nice. After a moderate lie-in and some peanut butter on toast for breakfast we got ready and headed down to Notting Hill for the world famous Portobello Market.
I've never been to Notting Hill before but it's a place I've been wanting to explore since I moved here (or since watching the film), and it's every bit as beautiful as you imagine it to be. From the pastel coloured houses to the cute cafés and eclectic stalls and boutiques it's the prettiest little community. Not really knowing where to go we kind of just followed the crowd of people walking with some sort of direction. Our first stop Bubbleology, I've been wanting to try a bubble tea for a while and although quite weird they are surprisingly moreish and refreshing. I went for mango and passionfruit tea with lychee flavoured pearls that pop in your mouth- I'd definitely recommend the combo, delicious!
After wandering down Portobello road, having a look at the stalls and a quick pop into All Saints for Dave we went back up to Notting Hill Gate for some lunch. We were actually trying to find a Nando's when we accidentally found a little Italian restaurant along the same road called Sugo, and thank god we did! If the cute and quaint decor wasn't enough to woo me the food was absolutely beautiful. We had mussels to start, and for mains I tried Gnocchi for the first time (heavenly btw) while Dave had a steak (also heavenly). If you love Italian and are in London this place is a MUST.
With bellys full we headed home and spent the rest of the afternoon curled up reading the Sunday Times, something I need to be getting used to being a Journalism student and all haha. Although for anyone else that picked up a copy, how smokin' does Azealia look covering Style?! I hope you all had a lovely weekend, I think I'll be spending the remainder of my Sunday watching Hugh and Julia in Notting Hill trying spot any places I saw today.
