Hello Milano | Day 1 Highlights

Buonjiorno! What a crazy day our first one in Milan was. Running from presentation to presentation to show, all whilst taking in the beauty of this incredible city. Click below to see my adventures!

Lizzy and I arrived at our apartment at around 9pm on Thursday, exhausted. Travelling with two suitcases is a lot harder than it looks. But if there was one thing to lift our spirits it was the little pile of invites and a surprise parcel from Aigner. Beautifully wrapped in a gold box with red ribbon was this gorgeous blue 'Cybill', just in time for Friday's show. 

Of course I couldn't resist taking it out for a spin the following morning, pairing it with neutral tones in this monochrome dress from Very and my trusty French Connection trench, balanced perfectly with these new Miss KG pumps from Bank. 

Starting the day at Furla, which was a #neopop heaven, filled with colour-popping bags hanging on the walls and from the ceiling. From paint splashes to a trippy hologram display on one of their bags, without a doubt the most playful collection for SS15.

 It was then off to the Vicedomini, who presented a geometric array of prints and body skimming pieces for their debut at Milan Fashion Week. Aptly titled, the 'Kaleidoscopic Knit' collection exudes clean lines and simple elegance through reflected textures on multifaceted knitwear.

Meet my bag of dreams. Just how beautiful is this pink-trimmed black beauty? After sufficient drooling and refuelling on icon-named smoothies, we made our way around the rest of the SS15 collection. Contrasting geometrical shapes with textile's fluidity, the collection is characterised by an extraordinary sinuisity playing on the combinations of different shapes and colours.

Last of the day was the breathtaking Aigner show held in the royal palace of Milan.  Celebrating the Munich-based label's 50th anniversary, the collection payed hommage to the best of Aigner with it's 'ICONIC' SS15 collection. With a palette of mostly white, beige and gold with hints of violet and cherry, the collection was ladylike with an edge, giving a nod to the 70's with slim-fitted silhouettes, classical sleeve dresses and and V-shaped necklines. Luxe evening dresses in silk and crepe chiffon sashayed down the catwalk, brought up to date with contemporary metal-net visors and Swarofski crystal elements. I'll be doing a full post on this as it's been my favourite collection to see in Milan, so stay tuned!
