Paris at Christmas | Photo Diary

. December 24, 2014 .

After my fourth trip to the city of lights this year, it's safe to say Paris has my heart. I don't think I'll ever tire from it's beauty, or ever get my fill of beautiful gardens, stunning architecture and Parisian boutiques. After fashion week, I knew I had to return before the year was out, so for my best friend Milly's 21st birthday present, I took her to my favourite place in the world for a Christmas break. I know, just as much a present for me too! Click below to see what we got up to.

It's amazing how much you can get done in three days, two nights. Wander through the Tuileries Gardens, consume countless glasses of wine, mulled or white, climb the Arc du Triomphe, shop till you quite literally drop and discover some of the most incredible boutiques, crash an office party in David Guetta's Champs-Élysées club, eat snails, drink some more wine, visit the Sommet of Madame Eiffel, climb up to the Sacré-Cœur, eat on the artist's square, ice skate in the Grand Palais, injure yourself ice skating, and of course, consume some of the best food you have all year. And breathe. The better I get to know Paris, the easier it is to hop from one pretty street to the next, all while discovering new things along the way. Milly and I had a wonderful time and there's really nothing quite like being in you're favourite city with you're favourite girly.

In addition to the classic and touristy spots, this time around I had some time to discover some incredible shops and restaurants you guys have to check out on you're next trip, especially if it's in the colder seasons.

LEKKER | kkoncept Store
These are the shots you can see in amongst my Sacré-Cœur images. We discovered this quirky little boutique tucked away on the rue des Trois Frères in Monmarte. "Tired of elitist and sanitized shops where you dare not go" young entrepreneurs Sophie and Solene created their own space, Lekker - which means 'nice' in Dutch. Full of unique accessories, jewellery, clothing and art Lekker is home to some beautiful pieces, in addition to it's gorgeous little café in the back. A definite must visit when you're up in Monmarte.

Merci | department store
Quite possibly my favourite department store on earth. Think Liberty, Other Stories and Anthropologie all rolled into one and somehow better. From vintage baubles and books to the most incredible homewares, designer clothes and decadent cosmetics. I could have easily moved right in. You can see from my photos above how gorgeous it is inside, but if you're not planning to hop over the channel anytime soon - check out their equally as impressive online store.

Le Scossa | restaurant
Located on the busy Place Victor Hugo, Le Scossa is where we dined on our last night. I was gutted I forgot my camera for this place because it was simply stunning inside. Everything inside was authentically French, old antique-y decor and mostly lit by candles and fresh wild flowers on each table, complete with a very cheeky cute french waiter. We were sat by the most beautiful fireplace and it was the perfect spot for a cold night. After long deliberation over their menu I had scollops with leeks and oyster mushrooms whilst Milly had lemon chicken. We were very full, but boy did we enjoy our food. It's rare to find somewhere that the atmosphere, service and food quality are all equally so on point, I can honestly say it was one of the best meals I've had ever. You can see our meals form Le Scossa on the left of the two dinner photos.

Merry Christmas!
