Bonjour mes amis! I couldn't stay away from Paris for too long, so Lizzy and I hopped over the channel to catch the last couple of days of Paris Fashion Week, and of course spend sometime exploring our favourite parts of this beautiful city. Our first day included three incredible shows, some down time in the Tuileries Garden, people watching by the Notre Dame and meeting my all-time girl crush and inspiration Kristina Bazan. Following the show (and an emergency SD card pit stop) it was time for our traditional jaunt in the Jardin des Tuileries. Since our first trip together here, exactly a year ago now, Lizzy and I have always made time to chill by fountains and have a glass of wine in the iconic gardens. If I ever had a happy place, it would definitely be here. So peaceful, beautiful and picturesque it never fails to put a smile on my face. We spent the most part of the afternoon chilling here, then had the fabulous idea to get hilariously fun ride on a rickshaw to the Notre Dame (see my snapchat for funny clips @lucia_grace) to people watch over a coffee.
It was then time for our next two shows so we headed, this time not on a rickshaw unfortunately, to the Grand Palais for Shiatzy Chen. I was so impressed by their colourful collection at last seasons show so this AW collection I was really looking forward to seeing. And of course, they didn't fail to wow me again, featuring a feminine collection (see all images here) fit for the trendiest of princesses. Inspired by 'Classic Mountains and Seas', the Shiatzy Chen woman wore a natural colour palette of petal pinks, khaki oranges, dark greens with chrome elements and classic silhouettes, the collection continued to turn traditional Chinese elements into a modern aesthetic, serene beauty at its best.
Next was final show of the day, so we hot footed it back over to the Palais de Tokyo for Paul & Joe. The collection had a smart seventies feel with a french twist (see full collection here). Preppy checked suits were accessorised with cute french berets, then transitioned into shearling waistcoats, velvet textures and a few wonderfully floaty full length dresses thrown in for good measure. Probably my favourite collection of the day in terms of wearability!
It was at Paul & Joe that I met Kristina Bazan. I've followed her since she started out on lookbook years ago, to see her and her blog grow into such a leading, successful part of the fashion industry was really something, and quite honestly she's become one of my biggest inspirations. So, to finally meet her was incredible, she was so lovely to me and even gave my hand a squeeze as babbled on about how inspiring I found her and her work. Day one and it was safe to say my Paris trip was already made. Stay tuned for more tomorrow x
