Summer In The City

. June 26, 2015 .

Dressing for heat in the city isn't always easy. You can be wearing a light and floaty little dress, only to have an upward gust of wind from the underground reveal your derrière, and of course, you also want to avoid looking like you're going for drinks at the beach rather than for cocktails in Soho. For today's look du jour I've opted for a mix of elevated, smart pieces with summer staples - something that's become my go-to formula for sunny evenings in the city...

You may have seen on my snapchat (lucia_grace) some gorgeous Reiss pieces I recently received - can we just take a second to appreciate the dreaminess of their Laguna bag? It has kind of a Chloé air to it and I love how the soft pastel suede and leather tassel adds a touch of texture to the look. I can see it by my side for many outfits this season. It's also now on sale (here) - thank me later! The wonderful mesh-detail skirt I'm wearing is also by Riess. The graphic pattern looks stunning when it moves and reveals the soft pink silk lining beneath, and the fabric is heavy enough not to be surpassed by wind but light enough to twirl in (see above, haha).

Paired with a denim shirt and espadrilles these pieces were perfect for my summer evening look - though for something a little fancier I can see them with a pair of strappy stilleto sandals and silk camisole. These beautiful pony skin espadrilles are by Senso from Coggles. I love the eye-catching monochrome print, it really gives the whole look a little lift and they look great with a tan. Yes, I have been spending a little too much time up on my roof.

Hope you all enjoyed this look and have a wonderful weekend, until next time loves! x
