London Fashion Week Day 1

. September 21, 2015 .

I cant believe how quickly London Fashion Week has come around again. I had a great start to the season (minus the rain) and spent most of the day in the new location in Soho...

I started the day at The Lounge Soho salon where I was invited by the lovely team for a pre LFW hair fix by their skilled hairdressers. With a freshly blow-dried mane I was ready to hit Brewer Street Carpark, and spent the day enjoying the shows and catching up with friends in between. See my reports of from the shows below.

Kicking off LFW with my first show of the say was Bora Aksu. Honing in on their signature feminine and flirty vibe, Bora Aksu’s SS16 collection was full of intricate pretty lace detailing on the garments and on the models skin. The colour palette was full of sherbet shades of powder pink and egg yellow contrasted with vibrant fuschia’s and oranges, influenced by golden hour the designer’s childhood summer house. With a garden full of lemon, orange and pomegranate trees the collection is a celebration of light and colour through textures and layering.

Next up and the BFC showspace was Eudon Choi. Influenced by the Victorian fascination with Fairy lore, the collection was a modern-day fairytale. Delicate loose tailoring was present across trench coats, draped dresses and blouses with drawstring detailing being a main component throughout. Key pieces for me were the ethereal, nude draped drawstring dress and contrasting bright pink pieces.

My last show of the day was PPQ. It was my first time seeing their show at LFW and I was really impressed. Mostly a monochrome collection with spots of electric blue dresses and bardot blouses. Attention to fabric manipulation was key, plenty of ruffles and cut-outs made their way down the catwalk on feminine silhouettes and shapes. The ethereal luminous hair was incredible too, slicked back contrasted with voluminous waves - just amazing.

Stay tuned for more London Fashion Week goodness.
