Ways to Wear #DPDenim

. February 09, 2016 .
Happy Tuesday folks! I've partnered up with Dorothy Perkins to celebrate the launch of their new SS16 denim. With the spring summer collection comes six new fits of denim and today I'm showing you three ways to wear the Darcy jean. I fell in love with this fit late last year when this navy pair arrived on my doorstep. I slipped them out of the package and over my hips and was instantly obsessed with the Darcy fit, flexible yet snug in all the right places with a super-flattering high waist. In today's looks I'm excited to be styling the Darcy fit in a gorgeous, distressed mid-wash denim and show you some of my favourite ways to wear this versatile skinny jean.

Friday Night Drinks

A good pair of skinnies and flattering body-suit is my go-to for a Friday night with the girls. Black is also the first colour I reach for when getting ready for drinks. Breaking up a mono-tone look with some distressed denim gives this outfit a laid back edge and to make it evening appropriate I love belting high-waisted denim when wearing a fitted top to enhance the waistline. I actually wore this exact look out for some drinks last Friday and put them through their paces - not only do they fit well and look great but are apparently flexible enough to see you dancing 'til the early hours!

Sunday Brunch

Darcy jean | Red ribbed top
Cream denim jacket

Sunday brunch might just be my favourite part of the weekend. Nothing beats a good Sunday stroll to my local breakfast-spot (if you're ever in Fulham - check out Hally's) where I'll order a matcha latte and eggs benny to cure what's left of a remaining hangover, not forgetting to pick up some pretty blooms on the way home. On Sundays sometimes I know we just want to roll out of the house in some PJ's, but the comfortable fit of these jeans are the next best thing. The weekend is also a great excuse to play around with some colour and this vibrant red ribbed top will elevate any casual look.

Date Night

Darcy jean | Lace top

Who doesn't love a bit of lace on date night? Granted it's hard sometimes to dress for dates in the colder months when all you want to do is cover up, so sheer detailing like that in this lace Victoriana top is perfect for making long-sleeved pieces flirty and date night appropriate. Skinny jeans are always a great go-to for date nights too - figure flattering but never too try-hard. They can be always be dressed up with your favourite heels and a feminine top.

Hope you enjoyed this ways to wear guys. Obviously the Darcy fit is my fave, but you can check out all of the new season the fits by visiting the Dorothy Perkins denim hub here to find the perfect one for you.

  2. LOVE. LOVE. LOVE. Super simple, and super stylish. The 'Friday Night Drinks' outfit is my favorite out of the three. Probably because I've been into tucking in my shirts more than usual. Haha.

  3. I really love your collection. Nice shades. Spring is almost here I am busy with spring shopping. Recently I had a evening clutch purse from Alysse Sterling now I would like to add this denim collection in my wardrobe.
