As you will have probably seen on my Instagram and Twitter last weekend, Dave and I took a trip to Brighton and spent a night at Hotel Pelirocco. We had such a lovely time and our stay at the hotel was incredible. I took so many photos whilst we were there, so there will be another photo diary post to follow!

Open for over a decade, the Pelirocco has become the most Rock 'n' Roll hotel in England. With a string of previous celebrity guests and controversial characters, the hotel is home to 19 different bedrooms inspired by 'pop subculture, provoked by visionary artists and maverick musicians.' We got a peek at the few that were free, and each had it's own unique theme and pieces. I totally fell for the pink record player in the Soul Supreme room and in the Peliroccobilly room had its own personal bar. Make sure you check out the website to get a peek at the full listing of room.

We dropped our bags off in the morning and spent the day exploring Brighton, checking out all the vintage shops in the Lanes, visiting the museum and art gallery and taking a stroll along the beach and pier. I hadn't been to Brighton since I was little, so it was really nice to re-discover it and spend some time at the seaside.

By the early evening we were suitably knackered and ready to check in and check out our room, and boy were we in for a treat. After refreshing with a good pot of Earl Grey, the lovely Cecily informed us if we could wait a little longer we could have an upgrade to the suite! Originally we had booked the GB Room, which was also stunning- it's the one with brown cushions and cool woodwork in the photos above- but the Play Room suite was just i n c r e d i b l e.

I did my best to resist immediately launching myself onto the 8ft round bed, which was probably the best thing I've ever slept on. Dave referred to us as 'sausages on a plate' when we were looking into the mirror above - not the most romantic way of putting it, but gives you an idea of how much space we had. The room also featured a lounge with a 42" LCD TV, a bathroom with a tub big enough to swim in and gorgeous antique furniture. After having a little tour around the hotel we were treated to some incredible cocktails, Dave went for the Del Boy which was deliciously tropical and I went for one with a chilli kick. We had such a lovely evening and honestly I could have stayed in the Playroom for the rest of the week. If you're after a playful, memorable weekend away by the sea Hotel Pelirocco is where it's at.

What made it even harder to leave was the beautiful breakfast we had in the morning, I went for Eggs Royale and oh-my-god, the smoked salmon was so fresh and tasty- easily the best I've had!
A big thank you to Hotel Pelirocco and to Cecily for inviting me down and making our stay so wonderful, she was an excellent hostess and if you're lucky enough to be welcomed by her your in for a real treat!
