Wrapping Up

. December 06, 2014 .

Winter is most definitely here. It’s bloody freezing. And really, what better excuse does a girl need to get herself a new coat? You’ll never guess where I found this dreamy one…

Vintage coat c/o the mother | Levi's jeans | Louis Vuitton bag | Zara knit

I don’t know about you guys, but some of my earliest ‘fashion’ memories are of my mum. Watching her get dressed up and ready for the evening, putting on lipstick and slipping on a gorgeous coat as she went out the door. So you can imagine my delight when making the occasional riffle through her wardrobe I found this beautiful piece.
I remember her wearing it when I was little over many a evening dress. She tells me she first bought it when she was pregnant with me, which makes it that little bit more special, and of course makes complete sense that I, ahem, borrow it now.
The swing cut is so cla ssic, and the faux fur trim adds a touch of glamour as well as that needed bit of extra warmth. For a Christmas shopping trip to bath with the original owner herself, I simply paired it with an old favourite Zara knit and a trusty pair of black Levi’s skinnies. With a statement piece like this I always feel it’s best to let it do the talking.
Hope you enjoy this festive outfit, let me know what you think below. Don’t forget to check out my picks of some similar styles you can buy now, if not for the perfect Christmas gift but then a winter treat for yourself!

  9. What a beautiful coat! And that it's vintage from your mom I just adore. I remember my mom putting on her lipstick and the scent of her perfume (which she only wore on fancy occasions). But yes adore this coat—such a gem and it looks perfect on you! xx
