LCM Day 1 Highlights

. January 11, 2015 .

Who knew menswear could be so much fun? It's been my first season properly covering shows for LCM and I'm thoroughly impressed with the London shows. From presentations in a strip club in soho to talking selfies with the male models at Private White, it's been a pretty awesome couple of days. Click below for my highlights from day one.

We kicked off at the Universal Works presentation held at St Georges church in Bloombsbury, where models stood in a circle and swapped jackets in carefully choreographed routine. An ethereal bassy soundtrack echoed through the church walls with teamed with the mechanical movements of the models made for quite an eery atmosphere, but it was cool to see how interchangeable the collection was as different garments were passed around. A stand out piece for me was the knee-length bright orange coat, it's always great to see some colour in men's AW collections.
Next up was marmalade cocktails and live craft demonstrations at the Private White presentation. Complete with the cutest bulldog, attendees were invited to watch live weaving and sewing by various crafts people. The collection itself was country uniform meets dapper gentleman, traditional but timeless.
We ended day one with Barbour, who's collection was all about digitised combat prints and outerwear with a military vibe present throughout.

Stay tuned for day two!
