How To Wear The It Dress

. January 30, 2017 .
We're coming to the close of January (thank god) and right now my focus is shifting to the new season, new trends and of course, London Fashion Week. I'm already piecing together outfits and dreaming of SS17 pieces I can wear when spring finally hits. I did spot my first bloom of cherry blossoms the other day – an encouraging nod from mamma nature that we're getting there... slowly.

This uh-mazing oriental print midi dress has been burning a hole in my winter wardrobe since December and with the new season nearing the horizon I thought it was seriously about time I gave it an outing. Fusing together a vintage inspired cut and a sports-luxe trim, this dress is seriously a statement 'it' piece you need in your wardrobe (even Vogue seem to think so). With a midi length and long sleeves it's weather appropriate, and the athletic trim means this look could also easily be pulled off with a fresh pair of kicks too.

Of course, it's spring – florals ain't going anywhere. But, this season the styling tip is all about toughening up your florals, a la Coach, Alexander McQueen and Balenciaga. Think biker jackets, ankle boots and if you're brave enough as the models at Preen, er – buzzcuts (kidding, plz don't). For a more subtle approach, you could op for some vintage-style dark sunnies to team with your leather like me.

Also, I can't round off this post without a little shout out to these new strappy sandals for being the sassiest most flattering pair of heels ever. Forever amazed by the amazing things PD manage to pull off at such bargain prices (these babies are just £29.99!), they also have up to 80% off selected lines right now too – have a browse here!

How would you style this it-dress, will you be picking one up for the coming season? Would love to hear your thoughts below. As always, thanks for reading folks x
