Mayfair

. March 27, 2016 .

You’ll have probably noticed a difference in my mane over the passed month - healthier, brighter and blonder all thanks to my favourite hair people at Jo Hansford salon. After leaving it a little too long after my last, my hair was in need of a pick me up and as the new season was upon us, i decided I wanted to go a little blonder this time - just in time for fashion month too!

I was excited to have colourist Dominique doing my colour again as I was so happy with the job she did last time, that and the fact she's super lovely. I explained I wanted to go as ashy and light as possible without causing any damage, so we opted for foils in 3-4 different colours over all. As you can see, it came out exactly as I'd hoped. From the brighter bits I'd asked for at the front to a gorgeous selection of blonde tones throughout I was again so impressed with how spot on Dominique was with the colour.

Chop wise, I wanted to be rid of split ends but keep as much of the length as possible. My wonderful stylist, Scarlett suggested we take a 'nibble' off the ends whilst creating some shape around my face. I hadn't realise quite how long my hair had gotten and after having some long layers cut in around my face loved the difference it's made. Just a few shorter bits have really given my hair more body when it's styled and I love the healthy look of the blunt finish on the ends.

Since my appointment a little over a month ago, my hair has been in such a good condition and an absolute breeze to style myself. I've included a few images above of how I've been wearing it over the passed month and I'm so happy with how it looks whichever way I style it. Of course, none of which are quite so perfect as the job Scarlett did in the salon (if only she could do my hair every morning), so whether you're looking for a full re-style or just a blow dry for and upcoming special events Jo Hansford will have you covered. I'm not ashamed to admit I didn't have to wash my hair for few days after my appointment because the curls lasted so brilliantly!

For appointments you can visit their website here. Thanks again to Jo Hansford, Dominique and Scarlett for having me in your wonderful salon and for doing such a perfect job on my locks once again.

You know you've gone to long sans haircut when you start looking like a dishevelled hippy, exactly how me and my hundreds of split ends were looking before the awesome team at Jo Hansford squeezed me in for a more than necessary hair sort out just in time for London Fashion week...

HAIR RE-STYLE WITH JO HANSFORD

London

. August 15, 2015 .
(I'm wearing: River Island wrap top, distressed jeans, snake effect pumps)

Using the right products when styling your hair is the key to a perfect looking mane. I’m really excited to for today’s post and to share with you how I styled my favourite, signature hair look with some exclusive new products from Mark Hill’s new product collection for the #MakeYourMark campaign. My go-to look, as you guys know, is voluminous soft and natural curls but I’ll think you’ll agree that my hair has more volume and looks shinier than ever after using the new products! Just follow the steps below to re-create this hair look, and don’t forget to check out Mark Hill’s hair products here

I'm also wearing this incredible wrap top that I picked up in a recent session in River Island's amazing style studio, how gorgeous is it?!

ONE
I started out by shampooing my hair with the XL Volume Amplifying Shampoo, which is packed with active ingredients including Marine Collagen, helping to up the ante of you hair’s thickness, strength and volume. This is particularly great if you have fine hair like me, I noticed such an improvement in body and bounce, limp locks no more! For maximum volume don’t forget to follow with the Volume XL Amplifying conditioner.

TWO
When you’ve finished washing your hair, gently towel dry then evenly apply the lightweight Styling Primer from root to tip. Freshly shampoo’d hair can often be too soft and weightless to style properly, but this primer helps build texture and grip; creating the perfect foundation to style from. It’s lightweight formula also means it doesn’t over-load your hair with product and, it also includes heat-protection which leaving your hair in the perfect condition for heat styling.

THREE
I personally like to let my hair mostly air-dry to allow my natural curls to give it that little bit more body before finishing with a little blast from the hair dryer, but of course, you can alternatively dry as you normally would too. Then, switch on your curling wand and brush through your hair whilst you’re waiting for them to heat.

FOUR
For the most natural look, use the wand to curl your hair away from your face. Doing this in sections is best for the most volume - 3 usually does it for me - using the Freeze Hold Hairspray on each section straight after you’ve used the wand. This spray cools down the hair after it’s been heated by styling tools and with it’s quick-dry formulation it gives a lasting hold to your style.

FIVE
Once all sections are curled and sprayed, give your hair a soft brush through to finish your soft, voluminous natural look, not forgetting a final spritz of the Mark Hill Freeze Hold hairspray to keep it in place. My hair kept it’s volume and curls from daytime until cocktails in the evening after shooting these images. I’m totally obsessed with these new products by Mark Hill and I hope I’ve inspired you to get styling with them too, I promise your hair will thank you.

As always, thanks for reading guys.

Hiya guys! I've been super super busy with work these past couple of weeks and my poor blog is suffering! I apologise for my lack of posting and will try and get a bit more on top of everything this week! For now I thought I'd give you all a little update with my first Instagram diary post. As you can see I'm super in love with my Motel Rocks Diana top, literally cannot stop wearing it! Its perfect for keeping you a little warmer with the long sleeves and looks great with anything high-waisted... Like my new maxi skirt! Some of you may know that my mum owns a beauty salon and boutique in Bristol called I Candy, and I often work in there. I've had my eye on the skirt for quite a while but never actually tried it on until a couple of days ago then decided I had to have it! I expect I'll be doing a full outfit post with it soon, and I'll show you the online shop which is soon to be up and running, it'll be full of quirky little unique bits of clothing and gifts. I'm also thinking about getting my hair high-lighted again, getting a bit bored of my ombre/roots-I-let-grow-out, looking back at older photo's of me I think it suits me better to have it lighter around my face, what do you guys think? Hope you're all well, I'll hopefully have an outfit post with you by the end of the week! <3
