As you may have seen from my Instagram, I accidentally slipped and fell into the Whistles sale the other day. At 70% off, I couldn't resist. This "Féminin" sweat was my most triumphant bargain at only £25. Though, of course I had to pair it with a most masculine look. Call it a juxtaposition in an outfit.

Palm print is slowly becoming somewhat of an addiction for me, there's something about green leaves that I can't resist at the moment. I've had my eye on this Reiss bikini since I saw it on their Instagram, so of course I was totally in love with this silk scarf that I picked up at the Fashion Chick event. It adds just a tropical touch to any outfit and brings it right into the summer season. I also love the way the prints clash with my new Cos tee, I've been after a breton top for a while and spied this one on one of the beautifully minimal displays that Cos get so right. Only £12 too, absolute bargain. Keeping it comfy I wore my distressed boyfriend jeans and Whistles slip ons to complete the look, my trench thrown over the top to protect me from these random rain outbursts that have been gracing the sunshine.

Sorry for my lack of posts this past week, it's been a pretty crazy one. I've got lots on the way though- so stay tuned! I've had a lot of fun at some seriously cool events and press days this week, Tuesday I went to the premiere for the new season of 24 and got to meet Kiefer Sutherland (eek!). Wednesday I went to Fashionchick's site relaunch event and got to see some of my fave bloggers, and brand babes then Thursday I went to the Lucy Watson (who is a total babe irl) for Lipsy event and the Topshop x RewardStyle SS14 collection preview! All of this in amongst press days and uni, cra-zy.

I'm so behind on posting I can't even remember if this was last week or this week, but it was an outfit I wore for one of the warm-but-drizzly days of May. This erratic weather is giving me serious wardrobe issues, so as a solution I picked up this French Connection trench from Traid for just £20. It's waterproof but light enough to wear when it's warm, my winter camel coat substitute! I paired it with my monochrome t-shirt dress now it's finally warm enough to wear, making for a such a boringly neutral combination it's almost interesting? Ha. WW #2 with John Lewis

For this week's wishlist I'm featuring brands at John Lewis. With temperatures dropping the frosty season is most definitely on its way, so I'm in need of a few warmer pieces in my wardrobe. Investing in a few key quality pieces that you can wear with he rest of your wardrobe is essential for looking good affordably this season.  Reiss has a knack for making the most minimal designs look stunning in a way like no other. This leather jacket has a somewhat Saint Laurent feel too it, it's rare to find one without lots of hardware and the tailoring looks divine. The coat by Reiss is too another minimal yet bold piece, I'm loving pastels for AW and this icy blue is perfect for the season. The printed Whistles jumper is something I'd put under both jackets, dressing for AW means you need extra warmth and layering in a print in the mix keeps it stylish. The accessories I've picked out are just some key pieces that you could mix and match across this seasons outfits, I'm particularly loving the pony skin and gold belt!
